In Our Garbage

I never thought I would blog about baby poop, but when a baby goes five days without pooping it is a blog worthy celebration when the poop finally comes!
Judah went five days without pooping this week - his grunts and groans clued us into the fact that he WANTED to poop - he just wasn't able to. So today Paul brought home apple juice home and we gave him a bottle of diluted apple juice and within an hour he had pooped!! Hurray!!

Amanda and I have spent the day baking - so far we've made two cakes and a batch of lollipops. We've got one cake left to make, some more lollipops and maybe another type of candy. There is a church pool party tomorrow, which means lots of people to eat food, which is why we're making so much. I never do baking for Paul and myself because we would just eat it all, so it's been fun doing so much ... but it hasn't been without its own adventures! Did you know you can burn lollipops? And that burnt lollipops are disgusting? They aren't like a burnt cookie that you can just scrape the bottom off and pretend it never happened... they smell gross and taste gross and look gross. The burnt lollipops ended up in the garbage - along with the pooped in diaper.

HI Jessica!!

We used to use baby food spinach for that :)--Judah is probably a little too young for baby food, though, right? Can't remember and it's probably different, anyway. 16 years ago when my daughter was born they told me to lay her on her stomach to sleep. When daughter #2 was born 17 months later, I put her on her stomach in the hospital and the nurse said "What are you doing?...babies should go on their sides!" #1 and #2 were eating baby food at like 4 months and by the time #3 came around 16 months after #2, you weren't supposed to give kids food 'til they were like 5 or something. I could never keep up with all of that!

I don't cook or bake, and I've never made lollipops. Do you make it with that scaulding hot boiling over sugary syrup I see on Emeril's show? I can't even imagine trying to clean that stuck on mess afterward, either. (much easier to go and buy them!)....

Glad you are having so much fun with Amanda!!! Love the stories (even the poopy ones!)
