READING LIST

My non fiction reading list for 2010

The One Minute Manager  -I really enjoyed this book. It is a quick read, to the point and engaging. It expounds on the idea of running a business without micro managing your employees by giving One Minute Goals, One Minute Praisings, and One Minute Reprimands. Almost every concept in the book can easily be adapted to my life as a mom and raising my children.
The Power of Less - This has been my favorite read of the year and I plan on reading it again. In The Power of Less Leo Babauta not only encourages a simpler lifestyle but also shares practical ways to deal with the stuff in your life and the busy-ness of your life.
Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours - I almost didn't read this one because I thought it had a dumb title, but when I found it at the second hand store I picked it up having enjoyed his other book New Kid By Friday last year. Making Children Mind is a great book! As with any parenting book there were things I didn't completely agree with, but Dr. Leman offered practical ideas for a range of issues and emphasized that parents need to just stand up and parent.
