Sewing Machine

I am so excited! A lady from church had an extra sewing machine and heard I was looking for one so last evening she brought the extra sewing machine over for me. It's beautiful!
It's an old machine, but has been kept in amazing condition and I just love it. It is built into a cabinet and all of the drawers were stuffed full of goodies - as well as a few additional boxes of sewing related notions!
I was so excited going through everything last night - it was such an exciting treat!

There are hundreds of different buttons.

Lots of thread, elastic, fasteners, needles and cute random things.

Pinking shears - I think there are 4 pairs between all the drawers. I love the old boxes.
"Old" meaning older than me.

This charming sewing box was also included - it is also full of thread! I don't think I'll ever need to buy thread :)

I was pretty much just as excited about the treasures in each of the drawers as I was about getting my own sewing machine! I think the machine and I are going to be good friends. I just hope the machine cooperates.

I want to know too! Old sewing machines are the best! I have an old Singer that's solid steel and will chew through almost any fabric I give it.

Ooooo, like Christmas!! I remember when my g-ma passed on, she gave all her sewing stuff to me. It was a lot of stuff. I will not have to buy elastic for a long time!! Have fun!

jealous. Maybe I can send you my green running pants and you can sew the new elastic around the waist for me! Then I won't have to hunt down someone who has a sewing machine myself... :D

It's a Riccar sewing machine. Instead of a foot pedal you use your knee!!

It still has the original bill of sales in one of the drawers - in 1973 it cost $309!

Ah, yes....my sewing machine and I have a sort of love/hate relationship. I love it (or the idea of it), and it hates me. Figures.

Can't wait to see what you create with it!

And WOW - that sewing box is gorgeous!

Oooh! What fun! I love to create with a sewing machine. It's one of the reasons I can't wait to be done with classes tomorrow!
