Before boys I didn't realize how many dragons and bad guys lived in ones house.
"Mommy, we will save you from the bad guys! Wezzy - shoot that dragon over there!"
*dramatic shooting sounds ensue*
Wesley: "OH NO."
Judah: "Wezzy - throw the BALL at him. THROW THE BALL AT THE DRAGON WEZZY."
*Wesley puts his entire body into a pretend hard throw with a pretend ball at a pretend dragon, causing himself to fall over on the ground.*
Judah: "Wezzy I WILL SAVE YOU. Hold on - I WILL SAVE YOU!"
*More dramatic shooting sounds, a bit of wrestling with a pretend dragon, some huffing and puffing*
Judah: "Mommy - we did it! We killed the dragon and bad guys."
Wesley: "YAY!!"
And then I kissed my heroes and thanked them for their brave service and for taking care of our home.
And when they wandered off in search of their next adventure I laughed a bit.
But only when they were out of hearing distance.
They take their job quite seriously.

My toddler is obsessed with Monsters and Dragons too. Isn't it adorable how their little minds work? I feel so lucky to have the chance to be with them as they grow. xo

Aren't boys funny that way? I know all about shooting scary monsters as I have 3 of the boy sort. Funny thing is, my 18 mo old girl can make excellent shooting sounds too.
