Supper

I received a mini-cookbook in the mail this week and it had two recipes for Finnish Pasties ... I couldn't decide which one to make, so combined the two with the ingredients I thought sounded yummiest, and added a few things on my own.
They turned out really well, and one day when we're feeling ambitious we plan on making a whole bunch of them at one time to stick in our new freezer!
I think they'll be great to pull out and microwave for lunch or supper. I am going to post the recipe over on the recipe blog, so you can make them too :)

Has anyone ever made Jamacian patties? We both really want to try making them, but want a tried and true recipe. Suggestions?

Sounds interesting. I saw you used coconut oil! :)

Never heard of Jamaican patties.

When we got back from Jamaica a month or so ago, I went crazy trying to find recipes. The best site I've found is:
http://www.jamaicatravelandculture.com/food_and_drink.htm
They have a GREAT jerk sauce recipe and a Festival recipe. Did you have Festival when you went? It's delicious!!! They have a pattie recipe, too, although I haven't tried it yet.

I'm pretty sure they make them in Jamaica, I know I saw some people eating them, I just didn't know where they got them from.

I bought the bottles from Amazon.com, but they sell them at Babies R Us (at least they do on their website). I'm sure places like Target probably have them too.

They are these.

They have bpa-free plastic ones too, but I don't know. I mean, plastic is still plastic.
