Yesterday Paul and I made Sushi for the first time ever - it was so much fun and incredibly delicious! We used cucumber, avocado and imitation crab for the filling.
Looks like something fun to try... though I've never been a big fan. But it sounds good with the crab in it instead of raw fish. Raw fish is what makes it yucky.
Sushi is just one thing I can't eat. I've tried it several times at several different places and it's not the taste, but the texture of it that I don't like.
I have been making sushi about once a week for the last 6 weeks. It is fun and delicious. I used to love to go out for sushi, but with the whole family now, it is hard to afford. Making it home has filled a missing peice in my life. Have fun
If you don't like raw fish, cook it. If you don't like fish try chicken, pork, steak, or just vegtables. Sushi means suace rice and it is the sticky rice with rice wine vinegar that really defines it. As far as the texture goes, or the taste of the nori roll ( the sea weed wrapping) there is not much to change there. However, I did see crepes used in a japanese restraunt once.

Your filling choices do sound good though!!!

Your pics make sushi look ALMOST appetizing! (Especially since there wasn't any raw fish in yours!) Judah gets cuter every day.
